What is the Matri Shakti Bharosa Card?

Announced officially in April 2026, the Matri Shakti Bharosa Card is a pre-poll promise to provide ₹3,000 per month (₹36,000 annually) to eligible women in West Bengal. The scheme aims to surpass existing state welfare models by offering a higher monthly stipend via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Matri Shakti Bharosa Card Benefits of the Scheme

Beyond the monthly cash assistance, the BJP’s vision for women includes a holistic support package:

  • Monthly Stipend: ₹3,000 credited directly to bank accounts.

  • Higher Education: A one-time grant of ₹50,000 for young women entering graduation.

  • Maternal Support: Financial aid of ₹21,000 for pregnant mothers and additional nutrition support for infants.

  • Healthcare: Access to Ayushman Bharat (₹5 lakh cover) and free cervical cancer vaccines.

  • Self-Employment: Mudra loans up to ₹20 lakh with the government acting as a guarantor.

MatriShakti Bharosa Card Eligibility Criteria (Expected)

While official government guidelines will be released after the election results, the manifesto highlights the following requirements:

  1. Residency: Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.

  2. Gender: Exclusively for women.

  3. Economic Status: Priority will be given to economically weaker sections (EWS) and marginalized families.

  4. Age: Typically applies to adult women (above 18 or 25 years).

How to Apply MatriShakti Bharosa Card

Currently, the “Matri Shakti Bharosa Card” is a commitment in the BJP manifesto. Official registration will begin if the party forms the government. During the campaign, “Trust Forms” were distributed as a pre-registration step, but final enrollment will take place through specialized government camps and an online portal to be launched post-elections.
